- {2}{B}
Prerequisites
You have a way to cause a creature to enter the battlefield under your control.
Steps
- Cause any creature to enter the battlefield under your control, triggering Jaws of Defeat.
- Holding priority, cast Overkill by paying {2}{B}, giving the creature that entered -0/-9999 until end of turn.
- The creature dies as a state-based action due to having less than 0 toughness.
- Resolve the Jaws of Defeat trigger, causing target opponent to lose life equal to the difference between the creature's power and toughness, using its last known information.
How to execute this combo
The "Overkill + Jaws of Defeat" combo takes 4 steps in order. Make sure you have the mana open and permanents listed in the prerequisites before you start — opponents can respond between steps.
The end result: Target opponent loses the game, Near-infinite lifeloss for target opponent.
Practice the line offline: lay out the cards, walk through each step, and note where you can lose the combo (summoning sickness, lack of priority, removal on a key permanent). In game, announce each step clearly; in casual play you can offer to shortcut after demonstrating the loop.
The best window is a turn when opponents are tapped out or after they commit a spell — hold protection (a counter, Vexing Shusher) if the combo wins on the spot.
