Prerequisites

You have at least five creature cards in your graveyard, and one of those creature cards has mana value 3 or less.

Steps

  1. Cast Songs of the Damned by paying {B}, adding {B} for each creature card in your graveyard.
  2. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying {1}{B}.
  3. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get {E}{E}{E}.
  4. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying {E}{E}{E}, sacrificing Eternal Witness, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning a creature card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  5. Cast Chthonian Nightmare by paying {1}{B}.
  6. When Chthonian Nightmare enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to get {E}{E}{E}.
  7. Activate Chthonian Nightmare by paying an amount of {E} equal to Eternal Witness's mana value, sacrificing the creature you returned in step 4, and returning Chthonian Nightmare from the battlefield to your hand, returning Eternal Witness from your graveyard to the battlefield.
  8. When Eternal Witness enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Songs of the Damned from your graveyard to your hand.
  9. Repeat.

How to execute this combo

The "Songs of the Damned + Chthonian Nightmare + Eternal Witness" combo takes 9 steps in order. Make sure you have the mana open and permanents listed in the prerequisites before you start β€” opponents can respond between steps.

The end result: Infinite creature LTB, Infinite creature ETB, Infinite creature sacrifice triggers, Infinite death triggers, Infinite storm count, Infinite magecraft triggers, Infinite black mana.

Practice the line offline: lay out the cards, walk through each step, and note where you can lose the combo (summoning sickness, lack of priority, removal on a key permanent). In game, announce each step clearly; in casual play you can offer to shortcut after demonstrating the loop.

The best window is a turn when opponents are tapped out or after they commit a spell β€” hold protection (a counter, Vexing Shusher) if the combo wins on the spot.
