AI Deck Builder — Nicol Bolas

Deck Forge is MTGAI's AI-powered deck builder. Tell Nicol Bolas what you want to play — a tribal Commander deck, a budget Modern aggro list, or a control shell — and the AI assembles a coherent 60- or 100-card list with explanations for every pick.

What Deck Forge does

Unlike a static card search, Deck Forge understands deckbuilding constraints: format legality, color identity, mana curve, synergy and role distribution. It suggests cards that work together, not just popular staples in isolation.

You can refine the list in conversation — swap a card, lower the budget, add more removal or ramp — and the AI adjusts the whole deck while keeping the strategy coherent.

Who it is for

New players who want a solid starting list without memorising thousands of cards. Experienced players prototyping a new archetype or exploring an off-meta commander. Anyone who wants a second opinion on curve, land count or synergy gaps before buying cards.

Example prompts

Try: "Build a budget Rakdos sacrifice Commander deck under $50" or "60-card Mono-Red Aggro for Pioneer with good sideboard options." The more specific you are about format, colors and play style, the better the result.

How to use Deck Forge

  1. Open Deck Forge and choose your format (Commander, Standard, Modern, etc.).
  2. Describe the deck you want — colors, strategy, budget and any must-include cards.
  3. Review the AI-generated list: check the mana curve, synergy notes and suggested swaps.
  4. Iterate: ask for more ramp, fewer creatures, or a specific card replaced.
  5. Export or save the list for playtesting with our Print tool.

FAQ

Is the AI deck builder free?
Yes. Deck Forge is completely free and works in your browser without an account.
Which formats does it support?
Commander, Standard, Modern, Pioneer, Pauper, Brawl and other popular constructed formats. Legality is checked against current ban lists.
Can I import my own decklist?
Yes — paste a list or start from scratch. The AI can optimise, suggest cuts or rebuild around a commander you already own.
