- The Watcher in the Water
- Greater Good
- Color identity
- GU
Prerequisites
It is not your turn. You control at least one other creature with power one or greater.
Steps
- During an opponent's turn, activate Greater Good by sacrificing another creature with power one or greater.
- If the creature was a Tentacle, The Watcher triggers, untapping up to one Kraken you control and putting a stun counter on up to one nonland permanent.
- Resolve the Greater Good ability, causing you to draw cards equal to the sacrificed creature's power and then discard three cards.
- For each card drawn this way, The Watcher's first ability triggers, creating that many 1/1 Tentacle creature tokens.
- Repeat.
How to execute this combo
The "The Watcher in the Water + Greater Good" combo takes 5 steps in order. Make sure you have the mana open and permanents listed in the prerequisites before you start — opponents can respond between steps.
The end result: Infinite draw triggers, Infinite self-discard triggers, Near-infinite death triggers, Near-infinite creature ETB, Near-infinite creature LTB, Near-infinite creature sacrifice triggers, Near-infinite untap of some creatures you control.
Practice the line offline: lay out the cards, walk through each step, and note where you can lose the combo (summoning sickness, lack of priority, removal on a key permanent). In game, announce each step clearly; in casual play you can offer to shortcut after demonstrating the loop.
The best window is a turn when opponents are tapped out or after they commit a spell — hold protection (a counter, Vexing Shusher) if the combo wins on the spot.
