Editorial Policy

Original editorial content: strategy guides, format explanations, archetype overviews, blog articles and FAQ answers written for MTG players. Tool documentation describing our AI deck builder, rules assistant and other features. Curated deck library entries with strategy notes where available.

Programmatic pages (card database, combo listings, deck lists) combine third-party data with editorial wrappers. Card oracle text, images and prices come from Scryfall. Combo steps and prerequisites come from Commander Spellbook. We do not claim ownership of that data.

Guides and blog posts are written by the MTGAI team based on gameplay experience, community standards and publicly available strategy resources. We reference the Comprehensive Rules as a source but never reproduce them verbatim. Format legality follows official Wizards ban lists, updated when sets rotate.

Card popularity and staple selections use EDHREC community rankings and format-specific play data. Deck library entries are sourced from MTGJSON precons, tournament lists and community submissions, with optional editorial strategy notes for featured decks.

We describe archetypes by their typical game plan, key cards and matchup considerations — not by guaranteed win rates. Community deck ratings on library pages reflect user votes, not editorial endorsements. AI deck suggestions are starting points for experimentation, not tournament-ready lists without review.

When we rank "best" cards for a role (removal, ramp, counterspells), we consider mana efficiency, format legality, flexibility and community play rates. Rankings reflect general-purpose strength, not every possible deck or meta.

Card data refreshes automatically when Scryfall updates. New sets appear in our database after data scripts run (typically within days of release). Guides and blog posts are reviewed when formats rotate or major rules change.

If you spot an error — wrong legality, outdated ban info, a broken combo description — email contact@mtgai.net with the page URL. We correct factual errors promptly. Strategy opinions may differ; we welcome constructive feedback but do not guarantee changes to editorial judgment.

Our AI tools (deck builder, rules assistant) generate responses at runtime based on user prompts. AI output is not pre-published editorial content. Tool landing pages on this site describe what the AI does and how to use it; the interactive responses themselves are user-specific and not indexed.

We disclose AI use in our About page and Privacy Policy. AI suggestions should be verified against official rules and your local playgroup before tournament use.
